KHD was commissioned to design the interiors of an expansive 11,000 sq/ft new build in the prestigious Highland Park neighbourhood of Dallas, Texas. The home's architecture features a contemporary aesthetic, soaring ceilings (up to 22 feet) and expansive steel framed windows and doors that flood the interiors with natural light. To balance the sleek, modern elements, we introduced a relaxed, welcoming flair that ensures the home feels warm, effortlessly liveable, and timelessly elegant. In some areas, the design transitions to a more classical aesthetic, requiring a blending of contemporary and traditional influences to create a cohesive, harmonious, and intentionally curated environment.

Given the new-build nature of the project, it was vital to avoid a pristine, overly polished look and instead infuse the home with character and a sense of history. We achieved this by incorporating elements rich with texture and soul, such as reclaimed beams and tiles, paired with carefully selected textures & materials. Bold statement marbles, including Calacatta Viola and Breccia, were chosen for their striking veining and natural beauty, inspiring the complementary colour palettes throughout the home. The result is a home that bridges modern sophistication with warmth and authenticity, making it both elegant and inviting.
